Software Engineering Job Hunting Reimagined

We are a group of engineers who came together after being laid off in 2020. Being laid off sucks! Especially during this tumultuous time.

“We were not ready!” is the understatement of the century. We needed time to prepare for interviews, we needed to compete with many just as capable engineers for the limited number of positions. Those scary thoughts lead us to reimagine what an ideal job search experience should be.

We started with a few questions:

  • What if my resume is working for me while I prepare?
  • What if my colleagues and friends can vouch for me in the process? After all, they know how I work not some random algorithm questions.
  • How can my application stand out from the rest?
  • How many more recruiters do I have to work with to get to the hiring manager?

OneTeam AI is what we came up with.

  1. You upload your resume and start preparing while you wait for job matches. Job matches will be pushed to you. You can browse jobs and express interest in jobs at any time if you’d like.
  2. In the meantime, you invite a colleague/friend to take 10 mins to answer some questions about you
  3. You will get a chance to accept/reject the matched jobs before your application is sent to the company.
  4. You don’t need to work with any 3rd party recruiters and your information is forward only to the company you choose to engage with.
